Go Wild Area 2025: Global
The “Go Wild Area 2025: Global” event in Pokémon GO is scheduled for Saturday, November 15, and Sunday, November 16, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. local time each day in the UK (and globally).
Key highlights for the event are expected to include:
- Pokémon Debut: The first-ever appearances of Impidimp, Morgrem, and Grimmsnarl in Pokémon GO, with their Shiny forms unlocked from the start.
- Shadow Raids: Shadow Darkrai and Shadow Cresselia will appear in Shadow Raids, with a chance to encounter their Shiny forms.
- New Shiny Debuts: In addition to the Impidimp line, new Shiny Pokémon will debut, including Shiny Unown W (especially attracted to Incense for ticket holders) and Shiny Hatenna (Hattrem, Hatterene).
- Rotating Habitats: The event will feature rotating “Lurking Dark Hour” and “Fanciful Fairy Hour” zones with special Dark- and Fairy-type wild Pokémon spawns.
- Mighty Pokémon: High-IV, fully-evolved, and aggressive Pokémon known as “Mighty Pokémon” (like Tyranitar, Hatterene, Meowscarada, and more) will appear in the wild, which are best caught with special GO Safari Balls.
- Ticketed Bonuses (Optional): Purchasing a ticket offers additional bonuses, which typically include:
- Increased chance of encountering Shiny Pokémon.
- Exclusive Special Research (with a branching Dark or Fairy path).
- Additional free Raid Passes and Special Trades per day.
- Increased duration for Incense and Lure Modules.
- Bonus Incense encounters, potentially including the Lake Trio (Uxie, Mesprit, Azelf) and Unown (D, I, L, W).
- General Bonuses (For All Trainers):
- Up to three free Raid Passes per day by spinning Gym Photo Discs.
- Daily GO Snapshot surprise encounters.
- Increased Max Particle collection limit.
The event focus is on Dark- and Fairy-type Pokémon and their related themes.
Preparation is key to getting the most out of it.
1. In-Game Storage Management
This is the most critical step for any major event. You will be catching a lot of Pokémon, especially if you’re Shiny hunting.
- Pokémon Storage: Clear out space! Aim for at least 400-500 free slots (more if you can). Transfer or trade unnecessary Pokémon to make room for all the new debuts, Shinies, and high-IV Mighty Pokémon you’ll catch.
- Item Bag:Stock up on Poké Balls.
- Ultra Balls and Great Balls are essential. The Mighty Pokémon are notoriously difficult to catch, even with the special GO Safari Balls, so you’ll need all the help you can get.
- Max Revives and Max Potions if you plan to do a lot of Shadow Raids (Shadow Darkrai and Shadow Cresselia).
2. Essential Items to Stock Up On
If you are buying the event ticket, you will have increased item effectiveness and need these even more:
| Item | Purpose |
| Poké Balls | Critical for catching the high volume of event spawns. |
| Golden Razz Berries | A must for Mighty Pokémon and Shadow Raid bosses, as they are very hard to catch. |
| Nanab Berries | Recommended for Mighty Pokémon as they are very aggressive and will attack/deflect balls. Nanabs calm them down. |
| Incense | Essential for boosting spawns, especially for ticket holders who get access to Unown and potentially the Lake Trio (Uxie, Mesprit, Azelf). |
| Lure Modules | Extend the spawn rate at PokéStops. Lures will last for two hours during the event. |
| Star Pieces & Lucky Eggs | Use these to double your Stardust and XP for the entire two days. Activate them right at the start of the event hours. |
| Incubators | If you plan to hatch the event-exclusive 5 km Eggs (which contain Impidimp, Sandile, Pawniard, etc.), you’ll want to clear your eggs the night before and have Incubators ready. Hatch distance will be halved for ticket holders. |
3. Raid and Combat Preparation
- Raid Teams: Prepare a strong team of Fighting- and Fairy-type Pokémon to take on the powerful Shadow Darkrai (Dark-type) and Shadow Cresselia (Psychic-type).
- Charged TMs: Clear Frustration! A special bonus during the lead-up event often allows you to use a Charged TM to remove the move Frustration from your Shadow Pokémon. Do this before the main event to prep any Shadow Pokémon you want to use.
- Featured Attacks (Evolutions): Review the list of Pokémon that will get special Charged Attacks when evolved during the event (Galarian Rapidash, Gardevoir, Garchomp, Obstagoon, Meowscarada, etc.). Make sure you have the pre-evolutions (e.g., Kirlia, Gabite, Floragato, etc.) and enough Candy ready to evolve them during the event hours.
4. Planning & Logistics
- Review the Schedule: Know the times for the rotating habitats (Lurking Dark Hour and Fanciful Fairy Hour) and plan which hours you want to focus on (e.g., if you only need Dark-types).
- Choose Your Path (Ticket Holders): Decide whether you want to choose the Dark or Fairy Special Research path, as this determines your reward encounters and in-game medal.
- Buddy Pokémon: Ensure your Buddy is at least Great Buddy level for the Buddy Assist feature, which gives a chance to bounce a Poké Ball back if a catch fails.
- Physical Gear (UK): Since the event is in mid-November, be prepared for typical UK weather:
- Portable Charger / Power Banks: Essential for two days of continuous play.
- Warm Clothing / Waterproofs: For cold, potentially wet weather.
- Gloves that allow you to use your phone screen.
- Snacks and Water: Stay fuelled and hydrated!
By clearing your storage, stocking up on essential items (especially Golden Razz and Nanab Berries), and prepping your raid teams, you’ll be ready to take on the “Go Wild Area 2025” event!
